After
the first edition of the 70 MHz and Cross-Band Contest (year 2008), the
Rome branch (“Sezione di Roma”) of the Italian Amateur Radio League -
ARI re-proposes the Contest for year 2012, with the main aim to promote
the utilization of the 70 MHz band that is getting available in a
growing number of countries. Moreover, if the entrant clearly does not
agree, all logs will be used as part of the 2012
experimental campaign led by L' Aquila University – Electric and
Information Engineering Department which with this initiative promoted
the release of the four meter band in Italy.

Dopo la
prima edizione del “Contest dei 70 MHz e Cross-Band” (anno 2008), la
Sezione ARI di Roma ripropone detto Contest per l’anno 2012, con il
principale scopo di promuovere l’utilizzazione della banda dei 70 MHz
che sta diventando disponibile ai radioamatori di un crescente numero
di paesi. Inoltre, ove non divesamente specificato dai partecipanti, i
log saranno utilizzati anche ai fini statistici nell'ambito della
campagna di sperimentazione 2012 dell' Università dell'Aquila –
Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica e dell'Informazione che, con tale
iniziativa, ha consentito la concessione della banda in Italia.
